Richard Tremblay, Sr.

WAUSAU, WI- Richard Tremblay, Sr, aged 78, passed away on July 13, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard was born on September 17, 1945 in New Hampshire, where he spent his formative years. At age 17, he enlisted in the service, serving in the Vietnam War. Throughout his military career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for defending and supporting our Country. He had the honor and privilege of serving in the United States Army, Airforce, and finally retiring from the National Guard, located in Ishpeming, MI.

Additionally, Richard worked the remaining parts of his later years in Marquette, MI, as a bus driver for Marq-Tran, proudly serving the public, and later retiring.

But more than anything, Richard was a devoted husband and father of 50 years. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games, and supporting their hobbies. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, Richard enjoyed hunting, shooting guns, computers and doing things with his surviving wife, Bernie, and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Bernie, his children, Richard (Jr), and Heather Evans, grandchild Ella, and son-in-law, Jerry. Richard also has two surving sisters (Candace Palaia & Lois Tremblay). His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A private service was held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Vietnam Veterans of America (www.vva.org).
