Karla Ann Rushford
CHOCOLAY TWP, MI – Karla Ann Rushford, age 73, of Chocolay Township, entered eternal life August 22, 2024, at home, in the loving, comforting care of her family and caregivers of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Karla is survived by her son, Mark (Katrina) Rushford; grandchildren, Kylie Underwood, Ryan Bryant, and Tyler Bryant; her siblings, Karen Strughold and Kathy Strughold; niece, Jessica Sharland; great nieces and nephews, Cecilia (Colbie) Root, Nora (Caleb) Parker, Spencer Sharland, and Reece Sharland.
Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dorothy (Burke) Strughold; her husband, Thomas J. Rushford; and siblings, Bruce and Gregory Strughold.
Honoring her request, private family services will be held.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Laura Santoro, Dr. L. Raquel Clary-Lantis, Dr. Eric Schaff, and Dr. Joel Appel and their support staff and associates, as well as the caregivers of U.P. Home Health and Hospice, for their compassionate and professional care of Karla. You all added to the quality of her life and your many kindnesses to the family will never be forgotten.
It was also Karla’s wish that in lieu of flowers, memorials would be directed to the work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
