David Lehmann

ISHPEMING, MI- David K. Lehmann, age 36, former Ishpeming resident, and most recently of Lansing, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 25, 2024.

David was born in Ishpeming on May 4, 1988, son of Karl Lehmann, and the late Karen (Selle) Lehmann. He grew up in Ishpeming and attended Ishpeming High School graduating with the class of 2006. Following graduation David attended the University of Michigan where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010. He then went on to study at St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN where he graduated with a Master’s in Education. David taught for several years in southwest Michigan, and in Lansing and was also the Robotics coach for two years while he was teaching in Lawrence, MI.

In David’s younger years, he enjoyed competing in high school athletics, lettering in golf, track, cross country, and swimming where he was the captain of the Ishpeming/Negaunee team. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and received several other academic awards, and was also a member of the Ishpeming High School band where he enjoyed playing his trumpet during basketball games. David loved long distance running, road biking, music, and reading where he was constantly trying to improve his outlook on life and the world. He recently was learning to play the guitar, and enjoyed wood working, where he created some of his own furniture. David was a University of Michigan Football fan, always staying true to the Maize and Blue, and keeping the rivalry with Ohio State alive. David also held a special place in his heart for both of his dogs whom he loved dearly, Rory and Gambit.

David is survived by his wife- Stacey (Noss) Lehmann, father- Karl Lehmann, uncle- Kurt (Julie) Lehmann, brother-in-law- Doug Noss, 2 cousins- Andrew (Kate) Lehmann, and Jacob (Catherine) Lehmann, and his close friend- Lance Haavisto.

He was preceded in death by his mother- Karen (Selle) Lehmann, uncle- Thomas Selle, paternal grandfather- William Lehmann, paternal grandmother- Joan G. Hansen, and maternal grandparents- David and Harriet Selle.

David’s family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday September 5, 2024 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
