Stetson Haight

Stetson was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on August 5th, 1956, to Dr. Richard Haight and Marjorie (Stetson) Haight and graduated from Negaunee High School in 1975.

Stetson was previously employed in the construction field and excelled at a variety of projects as a concrete finisher. A cowboy at heart, you could usually find him wearing his ‘Stetson’ hat and a pair of western boots. He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor, ability to forge friendships easily, and his distinct laugh.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Marjorie and Art Kananen; father Dr. Richard Haight; brothers Stephen, Gregory and Scot Haight; sister Christine Haight; step-brother Dan Kananen and dog, Butch.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Bobby) Cole and grandchildren, Brayleigh and Cash, of Colorado Springs, CO; step-brother Dean Kananen of Marquette, MI; lifelong best friend Carl Beuter of Prescott, AZ; his cat “Buddy” who he loved dearly, and many friends.

His heart was at home in Arizona, surrounded by the warm sun, mountains and valleys. To honor his request, no service will be held, and his ashes will be spread at Copper Basin Lookout on Thumb Butte Loop in Prescott.
