MARQUETTE, MI- Lenore L. Waldo, 94, entered eternal life everlasting on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Lenore was born on January 3, 1930, to Jalmer and Celia (Robertson) Jalonen. She grew up on their farm in Eben Junction and graduated from Eben High School, now Superior Central, in 1947.

In 1951 Lenore married Walfrid Waldo and moved to Redford Township where she lived for 45 years. Lenore and Wally were blessed with a daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Powers of Hartland, MI and a son, John (Shirley) Waldo of Charlottesville, VA. She had two precious granddaughters, Julia Ann Waldo of Mt Holly, NC and Mary Murphy (Evan) of Canton, Mi and a great granddaughter, Lily Knutson and one godson, Joseph Rantala.

While in the Detroit area, Lenore was employed at Sears, Detroit Gasket, Bodker Dairy, Posa cut tool & suburban tool before becoming a secretary for Lola Park Ev. Lutheran Church. Later, a medical record clerk at Grace Hospital, now Sinai Grace, in Detroit, MI from where she retired in 1996 Lenore worked as an Election inspector during the elections and enjoyed it, as well as her family and friends, reading, working crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.

In 2017, She moved from Marquette to Hartland and became a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Hamburg.

In addition to her children & granddaughters, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 19 years, Wally, her parents, siblings Vivian Hakkola, Eileen Maki & Elvira Stephens, Edwin Jalonen & infant brother Bernard & granddaughter Amy Powers.
