Faith Spiroff

ISHPEMING, TWP.- Faith Carol Spiroff, age 17, of Ishpeming Township, passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 7, 2024. She brought immeasurable joy and light into the lives of so many with her kind heart and radiant smile. Though her time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness she shared will forever remain in our hearts.

Regina and Kiril’s love for their daughter started with a quote: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Faith, a joy-filled gift to her parents, entered this world strong, healthy, and kicking on January 2, 2007.

From a young age, Faith was energetic, fiercely independent, and showed a precocious talent for socializing with everyone, both young and old. She was a loyal and devoted friend through good times and bad, always willing to lend an ear. Faith volunteered as a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Faith always had a friend by her side and her connection with others brought great joy to her life; in turn, she positively impacted the lives of those who knew her. Barb, an elderly friend and neighbor, was special to Faith and she often cleaned for her. She loved the beach, vacations, scary movies, and her favorite activity, shopping.

Faith recently completed her junior year at Westwood High School where she excelled in academics and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a gifted, standout athlete from a young age, training with Future Gymnastics Academy in Ohio from ages 11 to 14 where she achieved a gymnastics level 8 and competed all over the country. In high school, she set school records in diving, high jump, and long jump, and tied the U.P. long jump record at the U.P. Finals last year. Volleyball was also one of her passions.

She loved her family and will be deeply missed by her parents, Kiril and Regina (Joki) Spiroff of Ishpeming; three sisters: Emily (Drew) Langness of Tucson, AZ, Molly McGlone of Marquette, and Kira Preneta of Ohio; a brother, Ian (Kaylin) Spiroff of National Mine; her nieces Ella and Esme Langness, and nephews Emmett and Eli Langness; grandmothers, Claudette Spiroff and Mary Ann Seel; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention, along with Cole Berryman.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bud Spiroff, and Reginald and Carol Joki.

Faith’s family will greet relatives, friends, and the community on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Westwood High School gymnasium with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until noon followed by a Celebration of Life at noon. Food and refreshments will be provided during the visitation. Friends and family are invited to remember a life that, albeit short, was truly a gift to us all.
