Carl was an incredibly talented musician who played all instruments by ear, as a student at St. Michaels school he played guitar and sang at the youth masses. Carl was a 1973 graduate of Marquette Senior High School. Carl met the love of his life, Linda Tousignant, of Negaunee, Michigan in August of 1973, they have been inseparable since. Choosing a warmer climate in which to make their home, Carl and Linda moved to Florida on November 10,1975, they were married on December 31st, 1976. Next year they had planned to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and Carl’s 70th birthday on an Alaskan cruise. After a time, Carl and Linda settled in Oviedo, Florida on January 20th, 2002. Carl was a talented carpenter and after working in the industry for some time, he started his own company C.L. Carpentry Inc on May 22nd, 1995. Carl and Linda worked side by side running the business; over the years he helped several family members and friends with building projects on his trips to Marquette. Life was hectic in those days, but Carl always found time to relax on his boat “The Cure.” Carl loved deep sea fishing and many memories were made on his boat over the years with family and friends. Carl and Linda took many trips to the Bahamas and other destinations, and they met and became friends with people from all over the country; they thoroughly enjoyed their time spent at Cape Canaveral. Carl was an avid Harley Davidson cyclist; he and Linda enjoyed attending bike week in Daytona Beach and Leesburg, they took several rides with friends over the years, one of their favorites being Key West. Along the way they met many lifelong friends who shared their passion for cycling. Embracing their love for travel and their desire to visit as many states and national parks as possible, they purchased a fifth wheel trailer and started their adventure with their Harley in tote. They spent many weeks each summer at Michigamme Shores campground enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. They purchased a lot for their trailer at Willow Lakes campground in Titusville; this became their home away from home where many wonderful memories were made. Carl will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and generous man who embraced life to the fullest. He would say his family and friends were his greatest assets. Carl was a member of St. Stephens Catholic church in Winter Springs, his faith was his strength.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife Linda Pellinen, sister Gail (Stephen) Swenor, Leilana Smith, daughter by heart, Priya Smith, granddaughter by heart, Jessica Lynn Barry, goddaughter forever, several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends too numerous to mention.
