Betty Jean Tripp

Betty graduated from Ishpeming HS in the class of ’39 and followed by attending Northern Michigan University for elementary education, graduating with the class of ’44. She taught for 30 years before her retirement from the Ishpeming School District. Betty married Donald Tripp on August 10, 1946 and together they had two children. Betty loved to travel with Donald. They enjoyed summers at Fish Lake, MI since 1955, and they wintered in Naples, FL after their retirement. She also joined her husband golfing in Ishpeming as a member of Wawonowin Country Club. She is survived by her children, Bob Tripp, Candace (Patrick) Doherty; great-grandchildren Tyler Kiiskila, Hunter Kiiskila and Hunter’s fiancee JoAnna Gantz. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; grandson, Todd Kiiskila, brother, Edwin (Gretchen) Jr, and her parents.
