Natalie Darlene DePetro
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI – Natalie Darlene DePetro, age 73, passed away Sunday evening, May 12, 2024, at home, in the loving care of her family.
Natalie was born on July 17, 1950, in Escanaba, the daughter of Thomas and Natalie (Gittel) Beaudry. A beacon of love and nurturing, Natalie’s life was a testament to her caring spirit and her joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Raised in Marquette, Natalie was a proud graduate of Marquette Senior High School, class of 1966. After high school, she embarked on a career journey that saw her take on various roles in the local community before finding her calling at the Marquette County Unemployment Office. It was there that she dedicated 39 years of service, helping countless individuals with compassion and professionalism until her retirement in 2008.
Natalie’s heart found love with Kenneth DePetro, whom she married on June 27, 1970. Together, they built a home filled with love annd laughter, open to friends, family, and the pets they cherished over the years.
Natalie loved the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature. Alongside her beloved Ken, she traveled the country in their RV, creating memories. She loved the outdoors as well as tending to her garden, where she watched her many plants bloom. In her free time she also enjoyed playing Bunco and SkipBo, socializing with her friends. Natalie’s commitment to her community was evident in her avid volunteering at St. Christopher Catholic Church, where she touched many lives.
Natalie is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Kenneth, and their loving children, Angela Christodoulou of Syracuse, New York, and Kenneth DePetro of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Anthony, April, Ava, and Alex Christodoulou, as well as several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her sisters, Elaine Tucker, Rosanne Keller, Judy DePetro, and Patty Johnson, who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Dylan DePetro, and her brothers, Thomas, James, Richard, Clayton, and Randy Beaudry, as well as her sister, Lorraine Hanson.
Natalie’s life was a reflection of the love she carried in her heart a love that was felt by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Described as loving in every sense of the word, she was indeed an angel among us.
Natalie’s family takes comfort in knowing that her kindness and nurturing soul have left an indelible mark on this world, and her memory will be cherished forever. As we say goodbye to Natalie, we hold onto the love she shared so freely, a love that will continue to inspire and guide us in the days to come.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 pm with Fr. Dan Moll presiding. A luncheon will immediately follow the mass in the church hall. Rite of Committal will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery after the luncheon.
