NEGUANEE, MI – Nancy Arlene Hill, 86, longtime Negaunee Township resident, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, May 18, 2024 at her home, under the loving care of her family and UP Home Health & Hospice.
Nancy was born July 8, 1937 in Allen Park, MI to Louis ‘Carl’ and Mary (Bauer) Shumaker, and was raised in Lincoln Park. She and her husband, Darrell, and family relocated to Oxford, MI and both Republic and then Negaunee Township. She was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Mari (Michael) Crocker; her two sons, Michael Hill and Martin Hill; five grandchildren: Shannon (Andy) Demboski, Lindsay (Tom) Workman, Zak Hill, Chelsea Morelli, and Nick (Erin) Morelli; five great-grandchildren: Ryan Demboski, Brendan Demboski, Morgan Workman, Ember Hill and Dante Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell in 2003; a sister, Jeanne Knipple; and her brother, Carl Shumaker.
Honoring Nancy’s wishes, private graveside services will be held at Northland Chapel Gardens, Negaunee Township.
