Kaydee Lynn Bess

Kaydee was born on June 19, 1974, to Peter and Sharon (LaPointe) Dishnow, and was one of five Dishnow children. She graduated from Ishpeming High School Class of 1992 and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. Kaydee married Jeffrey Bess and they raised a beautifully fun, charismatic, and loving family.

Kaydee lived a life of laughter. Her sense of humor was quick, witty, and infectious. She enjoyed adventures, whether it was camping, exploring the outdoors, amateur bird watching, a road trip, or any new experience that came her way. She had the uncanny ability to make a simple walk around town or a long morning phone call an adventure. She danced all the time, she dressed for every occasion, she was fierce in her convictions and loved wholeheartedly. She found the joy and punch line in every experience.

Kaydee is survived by her children: Erica Dishnow-Bess and Jeffrey Bess; her stepchildren Jesica (Trevor) Morrison, Melanee (Marcus) Maddock, and Eric Nowak; her parents Peter and Sharon Dishnow; her four siblings: Kimberly (Karl) Hanninen, Peter John Dishnow, Diana (Jamie) Sundberg and Lisa (Michael) DeCaire; her five nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jeffrey Bess and her grandparents: Francis and Genevieve (Marra) Dishnow and Leo and Sarah (Liljeroos) LaPointe.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Kaydee’s life will be held on Friday May 17, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming, MI at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Church. A luncheon will follow Mass in the K/D Hall. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
