Jeffrey S. Chapman

Jeff was born on August 4, 1959 in Marquette to William and Betty (Morell) Chapman. He was a 1977 graduate of Marquette Senior High School.

Jeff married Diana Ghering on April 8, 2022. They shared 13 wonderful years together.

Jeff was a loving family man, well liked throughout the community. He loved all things outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycles. Jeff was always active and was an avid hockey player throughout his life including winning the 1st MSHS state championship in 1977. Jeff loved animals, especially dogs, which were his loyal companions. Jeff had an infectious smile and could light up a room with his humor and laughter.

Jeff made his career as an electrician, working for JP Electric for many of those years, a career that expanded 40 plus years. He retired in 2021.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Diana Chapman of Marquette; his three children, Daniel (Mary Jeanne) Chapman, Luke (Hayley) Chapman and Brooke Chapman, all of Marquette; four grand-daughters, Hayley and Emmy Chapman and Laney and Tessa Chapman; three siblings, Renee (John) Prince, Linda DePetro and Michael Chapman, all of Marquette; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two beloved fur companions, Cooper and Kiah.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Chapman.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services starting at 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home starting at 5 p.m. with Rev. Gregory Heikkala officiating. A luncheon will follow in the funeral home.
