Charmaine “Char” Pauline Ingersoll
Grand Rapids, MI – Charmaine “Char” Pauline Ingersoll, age 81, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Sparta, passed away on May 4, 2024, in East Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She was born on April 28, 1943, to Paul and Mabel (Jackson) LaForest in Ishpeming, Michigan. Char worked as a Para Pro for Sparta High School for over twenty years. It was said she was “tough as nails with a heart of gold”. Char’s favorite past time was being outside playing golf. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends for her sassy and sweet personality. Char also loved going back to the U.P. of Michigan to visit family and friends.
Char is survived by her sons, Donald (Paulette) Ingersoll, Tim (Alison) Ingersoll; grandchildren, Jenna, Danielle, Jeffrey (Erica), Destani (Chris) Cheyenne, Alex; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Susan) LaForest, Terry (Sue) LaForest, Doug (Linda) LaForest, Gary (Lynne) LaForest, and David LaForest; sister, Sharon Kling; sisters-in-law, Dora LaForest, Celeste LaForest, Betty LaForest; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Clinton Ingersoll, Sr.; parents, Paul and Mabel LaForest; sisters, Joanne Wright, Carol Kotel; brothers, Larry LaForest, Paul LaForest, Tim LaForest; and brother-in-law, John Kling.
