Bernard N. “Ben” Thexton

Bernard was born in Marquette, Michigan on July 2, 1945, a son of the late William Harold and Borghild Josephine (Trondson) Thexton. At an early age he started working at local gas and service stations. He started a 30-year career with Cleveland Cliffs beginning at the Pioneer Plant and retired from the Empire Mine as a heavy equipment operator.

Ben was an avid hunter, he was a life member of North American Hunting Club, NRA, and Buckmasters. He enjoyed spending time at camp with his “boys” Yogi and Harley.

Ben is survived by two children Connie (David) Giese, and William (Kristi) Thexton, two grandchildren; Dylan and Nicole Giese, a brother William S. (Carol) Thexton, a sister Carolyn (Leigh) Anderson, son-in-law Pat Eman, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, wife Arlene Gail (Langson) Thexton and a daughter Arlene Jean Thexton .

Honoring Ben’s wishes, cremation will take place, and a private graveside service will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
