Florence Ann (Campbell) Pohlman

ISHPEMING, MI- Florence Ann (Campbell) Pohlman, age 87, a longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

Florence was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on July 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Lawrence “Larry” D. and Florence (Mitchell) Campbell. She grew up in Negaunee where she graduated from Negaunee High School’s Class of 1954. Florence married Roger Pohlman on November 14, 1959, and together they made their home in Ishpeming where they raised their family.

Florence was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming, volunteered for the Bell Memorial Auxiliary, belonged to the Ishpeming Jaycees, was a strong supporter of the Ishpeming High School Booster Club and served on the Ishpeming Carnegie Library Board. Florence was an avid reader, making weekly trips to the library to read the latest releases. She loved cooking, especially Cornish pasties, and traditional English dishes, along with baking Christmas cookies, white loaf bread, saffron buns and making chow chow.

Florence is survived by four children; Debra (Scott) Snell, Linda (Dominic) Bertucci, Stephen (Cindy) Pohlman, and Todd (Billie) Pohlman; two sisters: Beatrice Johnson, and Sandra (Phillip) Hirt; sisters-in-laws: Kay Skytta and Debbie Campbell; close friends: Dorothy Remillard and Betty Bosio; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger, a daughter Kathy Routhier, a sister Patricia Simms, and a brother Daniel Campbell.

Honoring Florence’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private service will be held at a later date.
