BLOOMINGTON, MN – Patricia “Patty” Kay Bilkey age 80, of Bloomington, Minnesota passed away on March 4th, 2024.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandma, and friend who will be missed by all those fortunate enough to know her.

Born January 2nd, 1944, in Mendota, Illinois she was the first daughter of Martin “Marty” and Catherine Maesar. Patty graduated from Mendota High School in 1962 and went onto cosmetology school to pursue her career as a hairstylist.

Patty married her husband Dave on April 27th, 1968, which began their life journey of 56 years of marriage. They completed their family with 3 beautiful daughters Julie, Janene, and Stacy. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, and hosting friends & family at their “Bilkey Resort”.

When Patty became a grandmother in 1995, she found her true passion. Patty loved being a grandma to her seven grandchildren and started many traditions with them such as their annual gingerbread night, backyard Easter egg hunts, her endless candy basket, family gatherings cooking Rip’s fried chicken and more that they plan to continue in her honor.

She is survived by her husband, David Bilkey; siblings, Sue Maesar, Sandy (John) Whitmore, and Bill (Cole) Maesar; three daughters, Julie (Jerry) Eischens, Janene (Sean) Christy, and Stacy (Zach) Perkins; seven grandchildren, Jake (Eleanor) Eischens, Sydne Eischens, Jace Eischens, Charlee Christy, Hayzl Perkins, Gunnar Christy, and Harvey Perkins; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Catherine Maesar.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 11 AM at the Church of St. Edward, 9401 Nesbitt Ave S, Bloomington, MN. Visitation one hour prior. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available at stedwardschurch.org /funerals. Memorial donations preferred to Ridgeview Waconia Hospital or NC Little Hospice to thank them for the exceptional care they took of Patty.
