Glenn William Scott

Born October 9, 1944, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a son of William and Rhoda (Jasmund) Scott, Glenn was raised in Oak Lawn where he graduated from Oak Lawn High School, Class of 1962. He enrolled at Michigan Technological University in Hughton, earning his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Geology. While a student at Tech, he married the former Candice Jean on February 10, 1968. Following graduation, Glenn began a long career in the mining industry which facilitated the couple relocating to various locations around the country throughout the years. They eventually moved to Marquette where Glenn was employed with Cleveland Cliffs, from where he retired in 2012. Glenn loved the beauty of the Upper Peninsula, Lake Superior, and the opportunities for boating, biking, and participating in the Ore to Shore. Kind and soft spoken, Glenn was an avid reader had a passion for history, and loved cats.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Candy; brother, Larry Scott of Seattle, WA; sisters, Kathy Shrank of Elk Gove, IL and Janet Baily of Eden Prairie, MN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rob Scott and his daughter, Kim Scott.

Honoring his request, no services will be scheduled.
