REPUBLIC, MI – Bruce A. “Pont” Pantti, age 70, passed away on Wednesday March 13, 2024 at his home in Republic. Bruce was born in Republic, MI on April 21, 1953, and graduated from Republic High School with the class of 1971, and the went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Northern Michigan University.

Bruce loved basketball, adventure, and traveling. Another passion of his was construction. He designed and built a bed and breakfast inn in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, along with other homes he restored and renovated wherever he landed, Louisiana, Texas, California, before returning to his roots in the U.P.

After leaving the corporate world, Bruce traveled for over a decade criss-crossing the country buying and selling at antique shows and various markets. His artisan, signed pieces are well known in the industry.

Bruce’s wonderful long adventure of life was shared with his kindergarten sweetheart, Vickie, with whom he recently celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vickie (Hakala) Pantti of Republic, sister- Karen (Jerry) Feist, of Cumming, GA, step-sister- Clarice Champion of Ishpeming, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother- Elna H. (Pantti) Warren, father- Wilfred J. Pantti, and step-father- Thomas H. Warren.

A family graveside gathering will be held in the spring.
