Timothy Dale Smithson

Born May 5, 1956, in Ishpeming, a son of James and Barbara (Tebo) Smithson, Tim was raised in Sands Township. He graduated from Gwinn High School in 1976 and began his working career at the Crossroads Bar and Grill as a cook and janitor. From an early age, Tim had a love and appreciation of the simple life, enjoying nature, hunting, fishing, and being out in the woods. Shy by nature, he possessed an infectious laugh and was a hardworking, loving brother. In his leisure moments he was an avid NASCAR fan and loved cruising the Sands plains.

Tim is survived by his brother, Jim Smithson Jr. and sisters, Carol (Ken) Contois both of Sands Township and Judy (Dave) McAhren of Cedar Falls, IA; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Macy.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by infant sisters, Theresa and Betty Smithson; and a sister-in-law, Debra Smithson.

Honoring his request, no services will be scheduled.
