MARQUETTE, MI- Robert “Bob” Bolster passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, with family at his side at U.P. Health System- Marquette in Marquette, MI.
Bob was born on November 24, 1942, to Janet and Herbert Bolster in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a 1961 graduate of David B. Oliver High School and was drafted into the Army where he served for two years in Washington, DC.
Bob returned to Pittsburgh, where he went to work at Pittsburgh National Corporation, which is where he met his beloved wife, Janice. Bob and Jan were married on February 6, 1971, and were married for 53 years. They made their home in West Mifflin, PA, where they welcomed their cherished son Scott in 1974.
Bob retired from PNC after 38 years. He was the organist, choir director, and treasurer at the former St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh for many years. Once the opportunity arose to move to Marquette, and be a doting Pop Pop to his granddaughters, Elisabeth and Stella, Bob and Jan made the move to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Bob is survived by his wife Janice; son, Scott (Molly); granddaughters, Elisabeth and Stella, all of Marquette; his brother, Ronald (Patricia) of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law, Carole (Richard) of Edenton, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bob’s family would like to thank the kind, caring, professional, intelligent staff of U.P. Health System- Marquette for the care they provided our husband, father, and grandfather during his two weeks there.
