Robert Becker

TRAUNIK, MI – Robert Wesley Becker, age 73, Traunik MI, peacefully passed at his home on January 3rd 2024. He was born to Max Howard Becker and Janet Lorene Shirey on November 24, 1950 in Munising Michigan. He graduated from Mather High School, Munising Michigan. He served active duty in the Marine Corps from March 6, 1969 to March 5, 1973. In his younger years he worked with his father Max and brother Rex logging for Michigan Timber Products. He was employed at Kimberly Clark/Neenah Paper Company from March 22nd, 1983 till his retirement on January 1st, 2012. He enjoyed the quietness of nature and spending time with his family. Robert was a loving father and gentle soul. He enjoyed sharing stories from his time logging and working at the paper mill. His favorite pastimes included walks with his dogs in the field, watching science fiction movies and swimming at Deer Lake with his family. He is survived by two brothers, Jim of Homosassa, Florida (daughters Julie Bell and Trish Wayne) and Rex of Allen Park, Michigan (Sons Mark W and Scot Becker, Daughter Stacy L. Simons). His sons, Dana and Randy Becker of Traunik Michigan and daughter Malissa (Chris) Tack, of Everett Washington and Grandchildren Solaris and Leyla Tack. He was preceded in death by his Father Max Howard in June 1986, Mother Janet Shirey in June 2007, Father-in-Law, Kenneth LaCosse in 2020, former wife and mother of his children Diana LaCosse in September 2022. He lost his brother Tommy Becker in Vietnam on April 18, 1972. No visitation will be held, as Robert requested a private memorial to include only his family.
