Patricia M. Bureau

She was born September 3, 1933, in Marquette, a daughter of the late Edmund and Lillian (Noel) McGann. She was raised in Marquette and was a 1951 graduate of Bishop Baraga High School.

Pat married Bruce Bureau on October 6, 1956 in Marquette and he preceded her in death on February 22, 2015.

She worked at the Mining Journal as an advertising representative for decades prior to her retirement in the mid 1980’s.

Pat was an active community member and volunteer. She served as a leader in the Boy’s & Girl’s Scouts, was the stage manager at the Vista Theater, a volunteer at the Renaissance Festival, a former Ishpeming City Council member, was appointed by the governor to the Municipal League, a Pathways board member and a member of the Elks Lodge. She was involved in politics, enjoyed gardening, reading and in her younger years was an active snowmobiler.

She is survived by sons, Mark Bureau of Seattle, WA, Kevin Bureau of Ishpeming and David Bureau of Kalamazoo and Sean (Jennie) Bureau of Ishpeming; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Diane) McGann of Stillwater, MN; and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Teresa (2018), brother, Tom McGann and sister, Eileen Coleman.

Services for Pat will be held in the spring and will be announced. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
