Norbert Beauchamp

MARQUETTE, MI- Norbert L. “Mike” Beauchamp, 95, of Marquette, died Thursday evening, January 11, 2024 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming in the loving presence of his family and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Mike was born on February 17, 1928 in Marquette, one of eight children born to the late Fred and Frances (Kasiska) Beauchamp. He was a lifelong Marquette resident.

Mike proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Blount Brothers Construction Company in Quinnesec, and retired from A. Lindberg and Sons. Mike was a 70 year member of Operating Engineers Local # 324.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming, American Legion Post 44 and a former member of Marquette Moose Lodge #1059. In his free time, Mike enjoyed spending time at his camp in Deerton, watching iron ore freighters navigate in and out of Marquette. He also enjoyed researching his family tree as family history was very important to Mike.

Survivors include his sister, Noreen Beauchamp of Marquette; sister-in-law, Betty Beauchamp as well as numerous nieces and nephews including special nephew, Fred Reider; and great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents were four brothers, Don, Willard, Arthur and Albert Beauchamp; two sisters, Joyce Reider and Marie Revord; also a special nephew, Larry Gilbertson.

A memorial service will be held at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, January 19th at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon until the time of the service in the funeral home. A coffee social will take place immediately following the service in the funeral home. Spring burial will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
