Nancy Arlene Hatch

GWINN, MI- Nancy Arlene Hatch of Gwinn, passed away on January 14, 2024 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

Nancy was born February 25,1934 in Negaunee to Leonard and Tecla (Amesmaki) Anderson. She grew up in Negaunee and was a graduate of Negaunee High School – Class of ’52. She then made Gwinn her home where she raised her four sons and enjoyed being active in the community.

Nancy is survived by her husband Bill Hatch whom she married on May 1, 1999; her sons, Larry D’Ambrosio of Gwinn, Dale (Sue) D’mbrosio of Waterford, MI, Joey D’Ambrosio of Gwinn; Bill’s daughter’s, Nadine Hatch of Ishpeming and Brenda (Scott) Berg of Dewitt, MI; a brother, Stan Anderson of Valley Center, CA; a nephew, Nathan (Mere) Anderson of Valley Center, CA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; cousins and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stephen D’Ambrosio and daughter-in-law, Darcy D’Ambrosio.

Strong in her faith, Nancy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church; where she was a council member, Sunday School teacher, choir member, quilting guild, she attended Fortune Lake Bible camp, and was a very active member the WELCA/Noami Circle.

Nancy was a sales associate of Prange’s/Younkers for many years. Nancy was very proud of her Finnish heritage, and she had SISU. She was happiest with a house full of family, and when she made her Chicadelle, everyone’s plate was clean. Nancy bowled league and coached Gwinn’s intramural volleyball. Many enjoyed a cake made by Nancy, or a slice pie she made for Gwinn Days. She and Bill rarely missed a Sunday ride and enjoyed several winters in Florida. Nancy never turned down a road trip adventure. She enjoyed class coffee socials, soap operas and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Always a highlight was when she could attend her grandkids and great-grandkids activities, which she documented in picture’s earning her the title “the paparazzi”.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 12 Noon at Grace Lutheran Church in Gwinn with Rev. Jack Busche officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the church. A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall. Interment will take place at the Gwinn Cemetery in the spring.

Pallbearers will be: Jerry Joe D’Ambrosio, Alicia D’Ambrosio, Anthony D’Ambrosio, Aaron D’Ambrosio, David D’Ambrosio, Joey D’Ambrosio, Amy D’Ambrosio, Lindsey Clark and Nathan Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at MCMCF and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
