June Faulds

TTE, MI- June E. Faulds, 89, of Marquette, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 28, 2023 at U.P. Health System-Marquette following a brief illness.

June was born on April 3, 1934 in Nagano-ken, Japan, a daughter of the late Chin Wui Park (Arai) and Mitzu Kikushima. In 1959, June met her future husband, Vern, at Johnson Air Force Base in Japan and in 1963 they were married at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Dover, Delaware and began their family. Over the years, they spent 24 1/2 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1982 from the former K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base.

June was the family’s matriarch playing many roles as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and always ensured they were happy and healthy. She had a passion for feeding people and her love overflowed into the delicious meals she prepared. She made a friend wherever she went with many lifelong bonds formed and nurtured throughout her life. Always an active person, she was known to work out at the Marquette YMCA well into her 80’s.

June is survived by her husband of 60 years, Vern Faulds of Marquette; three children, Joyce (Dave Bryson) Wooten of Baltimore, MD, Joann (Chuck) Marler of Damascus, MD, and Vern Faulds of Manistique, MI; four grandchildren, Danielle (Jose) Vargas, Quinlan Marler, Austin (Kathryn) Marler, and Avery Faulds; two great grandchildren, Mateo Vargas and Isa Vargas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of June’s life will take place at a later date and will be announced.
