Margaret H. Lenore

Born October 28, 1934, in Marquette, a daughter of Helgie and Florence (Larson) Wessman, Margaret was raised in Skandia and graduated from Graveraet High School. On June 16, 1956, Margaret was united in marriage to John Lenore at St. Peter Cathedral. Honest and caring, she was a devoted and loving wife and mother who especially treasured time spent with her family. Throughout her 30 year working career, Margaret was employed as a secretary with the City of Marquette, serving in the Police Department, Board of Light and Power, and secretary to the City Manager. She retired in 1996. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and walking at the Island.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 67 years, John; sons, John Lenore of Negaunee Township and Michael Lenore of Marquette; a sister, Linda Cornill of Norway, MI; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Birger, Leonard, David, and Peter Wessman.

Interment will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery with private family graveside services.
