Leslie F. Poisson

GLADSTONE, MI – Leslie F. Poisson, age 76 of Gladstone, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Les was born May 22, 1947, in Daggett, MI, the son of Louis and Marian (Mottard) Poisson. He attended and graduated from Gwinn Area Schools Class of 1965.

Following graduation, Les enlisted into the United States Air Force and following his honorable discharge, he continued his education at Northern Michigan University and obtained a bachelor’s degree.

Les relocated to Manhattan, KS and worked in Civil Service for the Federal Government up until his retirement. He then returned back to the Upper Peninsula to enjoy his retirement years.

Les was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to take walks and appreciate nature. He lived in the Lake Bluff retirement village for 20 years. He was a member of the Irish Oaks golf course and loved spending his time on the course. In younger years he liked to fish.

Les is survived by daughter: Nicole Ronsman of Green Bay, WI. Senior companion and Best Friend: Arta Feddersen of Gladstone, MI. Three grandchildren: Tarryn (Max) Holm, Dylan (Caitlyn) Ronsman Jared Ronsman. One great granddaughter: Isla Holm. Two brothers: Lenord Poisson of Ann Arbor, MI and Louis (Mary) Poisson of Portage, WI. Five sisters: Lana Poisson of Negaunee, MI, Linda Williams of Marquette, MI Louanne Poisson of Sault Ste Marie, MI, Loretta Poisson of Ann Arbor, MI, and Laureen (Scott Denzer) Poisson of Hermansville, MI

In addition to his parents Les is preceded in death by siblings Larry, Lee, Loren and Lisa Poisson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 9:30 until 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Noon at the All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Gladstone.
