Donald E. Hooper

He was born on August 4, 1936, in Ann Arbor, MI to Albert Webster Hooper, and Margaret Eleanor (Protrude) Hooper. He worked for Wausau Insurance Company for 30 years, and was a member of the Rotary Club, Mason’s, Elk’s and KI Sawyer Air Force Association where he served as President and then as an Honorary Commander. In retirement, he volunteered at Marquette General Hospital, and also taught a Fundamentals of Insurance course at Northern Michigan University.

Donald enjoyed spending time with his family playing games and telling family history stories. He especially enjoyed fishing and going to deer camp with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret (Protrude) Hooper; his brother, William Albert Hooper; grandson, Justin Gaetano Hooper; and nephew, William Steven Hooper.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Naomi (Larmour) Hooper of 67 years; his children David (Lisa) Hooper; Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Hooper; Jodi (Tim) Wales; Jean Hooper, and Jason (Cheryl) Hooper; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
