Diane Louise Alexander

Born September 16, 1948, in Marquette, a daughter of Leonard and Irene (Silverstein) Fluette, Diane was raised in Marquette and attended Bishop Baraga High School. She married Neal Alexander in 1969 and together the couple established a home and began raising their family. Diane possessed a feisty nature, with a great sense of humor, and was a loving and caring mother who especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her leisure moments, Diane enjoyed true crime stories, was a fan of Stephen King novels and movies, enjoyed camping and traveling with her family, and wintering in Florida. She loved all animals, especially cats, and loved taking enjoyable rides in her classic Buick convertible.

Diane is survived by her husband, Neal “Buster”ù Alexander; sons, Timothy Black, Randy (Denise LaJoye) Black, and Brian (Ann Koepp) Black all of Marquette; step-children, Debbie (Keith) Lefebvre of Marquette and Dan (Dawn) Alexander of Baraga; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard Fluette, Mary Ann Vandezande, John Fluette, Linnea Sansone, and Jeanne VanAbel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, December 22, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. This will be an informal time for the sharing of memories and conversation.
