Clyde A. “Buck” Carlson

NORTH LAKE LOC, MI -Clyde A. “Buck” Carlson, age 89, lifelong North Lake resident, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, while under the loving care of his family at the Teal Lake Senior Living Community in Negaunee,

Buck was born in the family home in North Lake location on August 7, 1934, a son of the late Emma (Hanson) and John Carlson. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, having been stationed in Japan as a Personnel Clerk. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to North Lake and worked as a technician for Michigan Bell (AT&T) for many years. Buck was a bachelor his entire life, and enjoyed time spent at camp on Brocky Lake in which he was instrumental in building. While at camp he enjoyed fishing and hunting especially during deer season. Buck also participated in local horseshoe and bowling leagues.

Buck is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers – Edward “Kit” Carlson and Robert (Beverly) Carlson and three sisters – Marguerite (Paul) Salmi, June (Edwin) Bjorne and Betty (Melvin) Eliason.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Solberg to officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army, UP Funeral Honors Team. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
