Reuben Sironen
HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO- Reuben Jacob Sironen was born 6/20/32 in Ewen, MI to Emil and Maria Sironen,who immigrated to the US from Finland. He was the youngest of their 10 children. He died 11/10/2023 in Highlands Ranch, CO. He was baptized 8/28/32 at First Lutheran Church in Ewen by Rev. F.W. Kaskinen. He was confirmed on 6/20/48 (his 16th birthday) at First Lutheran Church by Rev. A.J. Korhonen. He married Beverly Jean Kubasch on 7/1/61 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Livermore,CA officiat-ed by Rev. Hilton Schlecht. He attended public school and grad-uated from Ewen High School in 1950. He graduated from Michigan Technical University in Houghton with degrees in chemistry. He was employed at Argonne National Laboratory,IL, General Electric Vallecitos Nuclear Center, Pleasanton, CA, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA and EG&G Rocky Flats Plant, Golden, CO from which he retired in 1995. He moved with his family to Boulder,CO in 1970. He was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church for 34 years and served on various boards & offices. He was active in the International Lutheran Laymen’s League and Lutheran Hour Ministries. In 2004 he moved with his wife to Highlands Ranch,CO and be-came members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Reuben traveled to Finland on 2 occasions to visit ancestral relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, parents, 4 brothers(Reino, Matthew, Alex & Eli) and 5 sisters (Hilda, Saima, Ruth, Senia & Gertrude). One sister and one brother died as infants. He is survived by his daughter Ania of Albuquerque, NM and son Joel (Denise) of Centennial, CO. He has 3 grandsons Jack, Alex & Charlie and numerous nieces & nephews. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Hour (660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis,MO 63141), Holy Cross Lutheran Church (9770 S. Foothills Canyon Blvd, Highlands Ranch,CO 90129) or to a charity of one’s choice. He will be buried next to his wife, Beverly, in Winsted, MN.
