Margorie A. Richard

MARQUETTE, MI- Margorie A. Richard, age 81, met her Lord and Savior face to face on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in the loving care of her family.

Born June 18, 1942, in Ishpeming, a daughter of Charles and Ethel (Tippet) Peterson, she was the youngest of 12 siblings and the last survivor.

Margorie was raised in Clarksburg Location and graduated from the Diorite High School. She married Edward J. Richard, Jr., in 1954, and together the couple raised their four children. Margorie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She always enjoyed visiting, especially sharing a cup of coffee with her best friends, her sisters. Margorie attended the Silver Creek Church in Harvey.

Margorie is survived by her children, Jane (Walt) Peronto of Chatham, Jim (Sheri) Richard of Marquette, and Dean (Crystal) Richard of Chatham; 12 grandchildren, Ashley (Shaun) Hardie, Travis (Amy) Heikkinen, Alexa Peronto, Kawaunee (Tony) Hofer, Jason (Christine) Snyder, Kimberly (Robbie) Haglund, Ben (Amy) Richard, Branson (Sally) Richard, Bryce (Sara) Richard, Bethany (Vince) Carlson, Margo Fortin and Shane Fortin; 14 great-grandchildren and one soon-to-be expected; a son-in-law, Bill Fortin; her sisters-in-law, Georgia Peterson and Sharon (Wesley) Hummel; brother-in-law, David (Sue) Richard; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; a daughter, Betty Fortin; seven sisters and four brothers.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, November 10, beginning at 10:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. Rev. Kevin Taylor will officiate. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception room. Interment will be made in the Park Cemetery.
