Linda LaChance

LITTLE LAKE, MI- Linda LaChance, 79, of Little Lake, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 26, 2023 at Trillium House in Marquette in the presence of her loving family and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Linda was born on April 11, 1944 in Marquette to Charley and Leona (Guntly) Perkins of McFarland, MI. She was a 1962 graduate of Rock High School.

In 1968, Linda married James LaChance of Little Lake, where they made their home.

Linda worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Marquette until her son was born in 1974. She later worked as Post Master Relief in Little Lake and also for Brown’s Store. In 1995 with the closing of K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base her family moved to Milwaukee, WI for her husband’s work. Retiring in 2005, they made their way back home to the Upper Peninsula.

Linda is survived by her husband, James LaChance of Little Lake; son, Chad (Stephanie) LaChance of Gwinn; granddaughters, Ashley Hank and Cameron LaChance; sisters, Gwen Hanson of Lake Mills, WI, and Lisa Noel of Roseau, MN; nieces, Tammy Nahmens, Leann Atkinson, Nichole Siemers, Tiffany Skillman, and their children; nephew, Christopher Walker of Anchorage, AK; sister-in-law, Barbara (David) Moore of Little Lake, and their children; and brother-in-law, Paul (Martha) LaChance of Fort Worth, TX, and their children. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Richard Russell and her sister, Carol (Russell) Belli.

Linda stated, she was blessed with good friends and family all of her life. You know who you are, whether it is shoveling snow on a frosty winter night, or sitting beside a bonfire! Love you all.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6th from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Little Lake Chapel. A memorial service will start at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Ron Westman officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will take place at Hillview Cemetery in McFarland.
