Janis L. Adams

She was born September 18, 1944, in Flint, MI, a daughter of the late Raymond G. and Donna J. (Chedister) Shipyor. She was a 1962 graduate of Flint Northern High School and earned an Associate’s degree from NMU in 1995.

Janis was a homemaker, but worked a variety of jobs over the years, most recently at the Ojibwa Casino in Marquette as a housekeeper.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, a devoted Barry Manilow and Detroit Lions fan.

She is survived by three children, Patrick (Wendi) Adams of Arkansas, Melissa (Michael) Treacy of Marquette and Renee Adams of Gwinn; grandchildren, Alexandrea & Brandon Adams, Catherine Niemela, Hanna Treacy and Mariah (Joey) Walts; great- grandchildren, Kalyee-Mae and Brielle; and siblings, Bruce (Suzan) Shipyor of Elgin, IL and Richard (Kay) Shipyor of Marquette.

Honoring Janis’ wishes, no services will be held.
