Brent Ensio Pesola

GARLAND, MI- Brent Ensio Pesola 65, passed away on November 1, 2023, in Garland, Texas. Born on September 28, 1958, in Marquette, MI, Brent was an enthusiastic, caring, and fun-loving individual who brought joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and former students.

Brent is survived by his beloved sons, Jackson and Caden, and his cherished daughter, Karis. He also leaves behind his brothers, Bruce and Brian, his sisters-in-law, Wendy, Karie, and Kathy, and his former wife and the mother of his children, Kristin McCool. Brent was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, his mother, Janice, and his brothers, Robert and William.

Brent’s educational journey led him to Northern Michigan University, where he completed his undergrad degree and earned a bachelors in English. He later completed his MBA at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Brent started out his teaching career in his home state of Michigan. He then embarked on a fulfilling career as a Theatre teacher/Director, Director of Performing Arts, and Director of Speech and Debate. He founded the Florida Forensic Institute, a summer speech and debate intensive program for high-school students. From 1990 to 2003, he dedicated his talents to The University School of Nova Southeastern University, founding and leading their highly competitive speech and debate program and also directing numerous plays and musical productions. He continued his impactful work in South Florida at Calvary Christian Academy from 2003 to 2008, and then at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Georgia from 2008 to 2011. He and his family then moved to Texas, where he became the Director of Speech and Communications at Prestonwood Christian Academy. In more recent years, Brent explored sales, education, and private coaching, leaving a lasting impression on all those he encountered.

Outside of his professional life, Brent found joy in playing fantasy football. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and he loved discussing strategies with fellow fans, including his nephew Christopher. He was a passionate lover of professional sports following many teams from Florida, Michigan, and Texas, and collecting memorabilia over the years.

In accordance with Brent’s wishes, a memorial service will be held by his family in his hometown of Marquette, Michigan. It will be a time to share cherished memories and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.

Brent Ensio Pesola’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he influenced through the years. His passion, intelligence, and his kind and entertaining spirit will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace. Colossians 3:23-24
