Michael Hosey
ISHPEMING /SPURR TOWNSHIP- Michael Francis Hosey, 82, of Ishpeming and Beaufort Lake, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, October 18, 2023 at UP Health System Marquette while in the care of his loving family.
Mike was born January 29, 1941 in Ishpeming to Frank and Emerald (Dishnow) Hosey and graduated from Negaunee St. Paul High School. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Accounting from Northern Michigan University and taught at NMU Job Core. He also owned and operated his own carpentry remodeling business.
Mike was a trustee for the Spurr Towship Board and served as Supervisor for 17 years, volunteered for the Michigamme Fire Department, served on the 911 Board and also as the Spurr Township Zoning Administrator.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Jean Ann (Andelin) Hosey; son, Sean (Lynnea) Hosey and grandson Quinn Michael Hosey of Harvey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick (JoAnn) Hosey; sister, Peggy Barauskas; and sister-in-law, Diane Marin.
Honoring Mike’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
