Marlene Anderson
ISHPEMING, MI – Marlene M. Anderson, age 88, of 415 Co Rd PPR in Tilden Twp., passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee while under the loving care of her family and staff at the Eastwood Nursing Center.
Marlene was born in Ishpeming, on April 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Senia (Franti) and Waino Korpi. She was a graduate of the National Mine High School. Marlene worked as a Waitress and Hostess at the Mather Inn for 20 years, followed by 10 years as a salesclerk at Woolworth’s in Marquette. Marlene was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed the Quilting Club. She was also a member of the Ishpeming VFW auxiliary, the RSVP for many years.
Marlene is survived by a daughter, Rhonda M. (Fabian) Andriacchi, a son, Roy (Marcia) Anderson both of Ishpeming, 3 grandchildren, Michael (Chelsea) Anderson, Heather (Tony) Obrohta, Christina (Josh) Linde, 2 great grandchildren, William and Kate Anderson, a sister, Donna (Earl) Knutson of Ishpeming, special friend Carol Gaboury, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Anderson in 2010, brothers – Melvin, Norman, Calvin, Roy, Ronald Korpi and sister Shirley Korpi, along with her beloved canine “Mutti”.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday October 11, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, with Bishop Emeritus Tom Skrenes to officiate. A luncheon will follow the services at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Marlene’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Eastwood Nursing Center for the kind compassionate care they gave to Marlene.
