Lowell Miller

ISHPEMING, TWP – Lowell William Miller, 82, of Ishpeming Township, passed away peacefully at home Sunday evening, October 8, 2023 while in the care of his loving family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Lowell was born June 18, 1941 in Ishpeming to Raymond and Phyllis (Robbins) Miller and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1959. After graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.

Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Lowell received his welding certificate from Northern Michigan University’s Skills Center. He was employed as a plumber, pipefitter and welder for UA Local 111. A talented handyman, he could fix anything.

Lowell was a member of American Legion Post 44, Marquette and the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. An avid Minnesota Vikings fan, he enjoyed cheering for them on Sundays.

Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Shirley (Hood) Miller; son, Lowell Miller of Ishpeming; three daughters: Cindy Miller of Appleton, Jodi (Al) Pfeiffer of Appleton and Tammy Campbell of Carlsend; four step-children: Linda Davis of Missouri, Albert (Cindy) Feltner of Kingsford, Sandra (Joe) Drozd of Marquette and Julie (Ralph) Belmore of Marquette; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; his loving canine companion, Toby; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bonita (Koski) Miller in 1997; his sister, Arlene Patrick; and his grandson, Daniel Feltner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 12th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Bre Kinnunen officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
