AUTRAIN, MI – On September 30, 2023, John Isadore Reno of Au Train, Michigan, died after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on December 2, 1940, to Isadore and Sarah (Longtine) Reno. He had three brothers Girard, Donald, Isadore Jr. and two sisters, Sarah and Isadora. He graduated from Mather High School in Munising. Right after graduation, he entered the Airforce after serving four years as an AP. John had one daughter named Kimberly.
John spent his entire life living in Munising/Au Train area. He worked at the Munising Papermill in the Boiler Room for almost thirty years. John was an avid reader and read books of many different genres. He loved the Lions and all Michigan sports teams. He stayed active playing golf with his friends. He enjoyed bird hunting and loved to fish Brook Trout. John loved to take walks and enjoyed the fresh air.
John is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Simon of GA; brother Don Reno of Christmas, MI; Sisters Sarah Pierson, of Munising and Isadora Peterson of Able, New Mexico.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Sarah Reno, his brothers Girard Reno and Isadore Reno Jr.
