Rev. John Kallio

He was born at home on March 22, 1940, in Forest Lake, MI. He graduated from Eben High School, class of 1958, where he earned three school letters in basketball and four in track and field. Summers were highlighted by his interests in baseball, fishing with his fly rod and many hours swimming at the dam with his cousins, friends and brother. Fall and winter activities included small game hunting with his shotgun and deer hunting with his father’s 30-30 Winchester rifle.

John graduated from Springfield Theological Seminary and was ordained into the ministry at his home congregation, Sion Lutheran Church, Chatham. He served congregations in Michigan and Minnesota.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn; 3 children and 10 grandchildren and one brother.
