Mary Lou Zoppetti

Mary Lou was born July 21, 1931 in Gwinn, to the late Louis and Pierina (Maffassanti) Forchini. She was a lifelong resident of Gwinn and graduated from Gwinn High School in 1949.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn, where she was involved with the Altar Society serving funeral luncheons for many years. In addition to raising a family, she also worked at her brother’s Red Owl Store in Gwinn. Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, nonie and sister, who always put the needs of others before her own.

Mary Lou is survived by her four children, Linda (David) Daugherty, Carol (Kelvin) Marjomaki, David Zoppetti and Ann (David) Pink; four grandchildren, Daniel (Carolina) Daugherty, Ashley Marjomaki, Kelsey Pink and Sarah (David) Reimers; two great-grandchildren, Andrea and Camila Daugherty; sister, Virginia Ayotte; sister-in-law, Pat Forchini and several nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have special relationships with Elizabeth Milliner and her family and her close friend, Sue Larson.

Besides her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zoppetti of 42 years; brother, Louis Forchini and her close friend, Rosie Filizetti Anderson.

Honoring Mary Lou’s wishes, there will be a private family Mass.

Her family would like to give thanks to U.P. Home Health & Hospice, especially Paula, Patience, Sarah and Martha. They would also like to thank Dr. Catherine Kroll, and Forsyth Township and U.P. Health System EMTS.
