Marion “Dolly” Lindberg
ISHPEMING, MI – Marion L. “Dolly” Lindberg, age 98, currently residing at the Teal Lake Senior Living Community in Negaunee, and formerly a lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, while in the loving care of her family.
Dolly was born to James and Lois (Lob) Lawson on July 13, 1925, in Ishpeming’s Cleveland Location. She was a proud graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1943 and continued her education at St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, receiving her degree as a registered nurse.
Along with being a wonderful wife and mother, Dolly worked as a registered nurse at the Bell Memorial Hospital and Negaunee’s Twin City Medical Clinic. During her life she loved trailer camping, reading, knitting, bridge, walking, and being a mother and grandmother. Dolly was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Dolly is survived by her sons – Lee (Gina) Lindberg of Marquette and Scott “Potsy” (Alison Melanie) Lindberg of Felton, CA, her grandchildren – Nadia Lindberg, Jeffery Lindberg, Duncan Lindberg, Mariah Teal Lindberg, and great- grandson Everett Lindberg. Also surviving are her brothers Keith Lawson of Ishpeming and Douglas (Dottie) Lawson of Jackson, MI. Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth D. Lindberg, brother Jim “Roxie” Lawson, and sister Shirley Crittenton.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 12:00pm on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home to celebrate Dolly’s life, which will conclude with a brief prayer and remembrance at noon. Private interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
She and her family would like to thank the Teal Lake Senior Living staff and residents for providing contentment and friendship for the past two and one-half years. Additionally, many thanks to Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice for the end-of-life care they provide Dolly and the family.
