Jeff Alan Harry
SKANDIA, MI – Jeff Alan Harry, 75, of Skandia passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at UP Health System in Marquette after a brief illness.
Jeff was born on July 26, 1948. He spent the majority of his childhood in Calumet, Michigan, hanging out and growing up with his many cousins that lived in the area. He continued his education in Chicago at the Lutheran School of Theology, where he became ordained as a Lutheran pastor. His callings sent him to Detroit, Houston, and Brooklyn, New York. In 1985, Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Jill Somers. A few years later, Jeff resigned from the ministry and they moved back to the UP, eventually settling in Skandia.
Jeff was a gifted singer and guitarist. He enjoyed sharing his musical talents at a few local establishments as well as gatherings with family and friends. He was also an avid history buff. He loved reading books about historical events and figures. He would happily share this knowledge with anyone willing to listen or read one of his beloved books.
