Janet Carol Bresette

Born December 13, 1937 in Stambaugh, a daughter of George and Delvina (Baker) Hammar, Janet was raised in Stambaugh and graduated from the Stambaugh High School in 1955. A Marquette resident since 1966, she was employed locally as a cake decorator for over 24 years, working at Jack’s IGA and helping to open Econo Foods when they came to Marquette.

Janet retired in 1999.

Her hobbies and special interests included reading, knitting and visiting the casino. Throughout the years, she volunteered her time as a Brownie leader, working with the Girl Scouts at the Whitman Elementary School, and serving on the Title 5 Indian Committee.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Christine (Michael) Martinson of Iron River, Donna Bresette of Marquette, and Dawn Bresette of Lawton, OK; her grandchildren, Heath Condon, Nathan (Heather) Pathroff, Chase Holzhauer, Jalen and Jacori Edwards; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, JoAnne Schivy of Iron River; several nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Thomas Gene Condon.

Honoring Janet’s request, no services will be scheduled.
