Elsie Christensen

She is survived by her son, Jeff Christensen, son-in-law Gregory Ostrenga, many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her cherished dog, Bandit.

Elsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Christensen, her son, Bill Christensen and her daughters, Elsie Ann Ostrenga and Dana Christensen.

Elsie’s favorite pastimes included dancing all night long, sewing and seamstressing, handwork, hunting and going to camp. Elsie was known for her love of dancing and her children, caring for her daycare kids and 92 foster kids over the years. Always serving, Elsie continued to give her time for good causes, working at the Salvation Army until she was 95, when she finally retired!

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 12 noon with the Rev. Sudalak Layraman officiating. Elsie’s family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral service. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
