Scott Bartle, Jr.

NEGAUNEE, MI – Scott Paul Bartle, Jr., 33, of Negaunee, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

Scott was born January 22, 1990 in Ishpeming, to Scott (Jan) Bartle, Sr. and Jackie Ann Willey, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 2008, and was a lifelong area resident. Scott worked for over 15 years at Jean Kays Pasties.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, golfing, hiking, and spending time with family. Scotty loved being joyful, and this was evident from his warm inviting smile, hearty laugh, and quickness to find humor in commonplace aspects of everyday life. He was very kind, gentle, and cared deeply about both people and animals, including his cat, “Kitty”. Scotty was a very rare soul and truly was an angel on earth. Kindness was all he knew, never judging and always authentic. Scotty has taught us a priceless lesson on love and forgiveness, and to live each day trying to be better than the day before. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed and thought of often.

Surviving are his parents; his grandparents, Denise LaFave and Steven Willey; his brother, Shay (Autumn) Willey; three sisters: Deanna Willey and her children: Dawsyn and Amira, Ashley (Alyshia) Constance, and Natalie Bartle; his uncles: Terry (Julie) Bartle, Brian (Sandra) Willey, and Steven and Christopher Willey; his aunts, Laurie (Dave) Makela and Vicki (Jim) Bertrand; his cousins, who were all very special to him: Dalton (Alex) Bertrand, Quinton (Melody) Bertrand, Dustin Wirtanen and his children, Estelle and Vinnie, Hunter (Kendall) Wirtanen, Jacob Poyhonen, Hunter Gray, Dylan (Paige) Willey, Janelle (Bobby) Bess and their son, Crosby, Sydney (Corie) Miller, and Courtney Turino and his best friend, Justin Renfors.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bruce and Margaret Bartle, and Pat LaFave.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 10th at Bartle Park in Negaunee, where coffee, refreshments and desserts will be served. The family asks to please bring a chair with you. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Scott’s family.
