Patrick Cohan
NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI – Patrick Michael Cohan, 74, of Negaunee Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his home.
Pat was born October 30, 1948 at home in Little Lake to Earl and Bernice (Samuelson) Cohan. With Earl working road construction in Ohio, Pat graduated from Niles High School. He began his equipment operating career alongside his Father before moving back to the UP where he worked for Operating Engineers Local 324. Pat was a member of Local 324 for over 40 years. During the winters, he was employed at KI Sawyer Air Force Base.
Pat was a member of American Legion Post 349, Little Lake. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and spending time at camp with his dogs. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and sharing his recipes.
Surviving are his daughter, Clarissa Cohan of West Virginia; grandchildren: Sydney Blankenship, Devon Temple; Brendon and Brett Cohan; sister, Carol (Joseph) Cobasky of Gwinn; brother, John (Barbara) Cohan of Negaunee; several nieces, nephews, cousins; former wife and best friend, Sue Cohan of Helen Lake; and step-sons: Michael (Marilyn), Kristopher (Stephanie) and Timothy Kjellman. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; and daughter, Susan.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of Memorial services at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 9th at Koskey Funeral Home with Rev. Bre Kinnunen, Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Interment will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery.
