Mitchell F. ‘Mick’ Fulsher, Sr.

MARQUETTE, MI – Mitchell F. “Mick” Fulsher, Sr., 73, of Marquette, died peacefully Friday, August 25, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 10, 1950, in Marquette, a son of the late Ted and Dorothy June (Francis) Fulsher. He was a 1969 graduate of Marquette Senior High School and a lifelong Marquette resident.

On October 7, 1972, he married, Susan Beauchamp, at St. Peter Cathedral.

Mick was first employed by Ted Fulsher Motors Sales, a business that was established in 1930. Specializing in selling Diamond Rio trucks and Packard cars. From 1973-2020, he was the co-owner of EQ Muffler in Marquette. Mick was a hard-working, dependable, honest, and well-respected businessman.

He was a member of U.P. Whitetails. Mick was a passionate outdoorsman. He was a successful knowledgeable fisherman. He participated and won many fishing tournaments. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at camp in Forestville. One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards with his friends. He looked forward to his annual Grand Marais fishing trip with his longtime friends, Donnie Johnson and Jimmy Quinn.

He was the strong silent type. A man of many thoughts. He had an undeniable kindness in his eyes. Everyone liked Mick.

Above all, family was the most important thing in his life. He was a devoted husband for nearly 51 years. He adored his wife, Susy. He was a proud and loving Father of 3 and the best Papa ever!

Mick is survived by his wife, Susan of Marquette; children, Tammy (Matt) Rahn, of Commerce Township, MI, Melissa (Jason) Coffey of South Range, MI and Mitch Fulsher, Jr. of Marquette; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas Fulsher, Natalie Rahn, Molly & Troy Coffey, Mitchell Fulsher III and Jaxson Wright; siblings, Ted Fulsher of Marquette, Pat (Heather) Fulsher of Gwinn, Mary (Bernie) Rosendahl of Marquette, Rich (Glenys) Fulsher of Marquette, Carl Fulsher of Marquette and Jim (Carol) Fulsher of Marquette and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm, at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon in the funeral home with Pastor Lon Russell officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
