Carole Hill
REPUBLIC, MI – Carole Jean Hill, 81, former longtime Republic resident, passed away Monday evening, August 28, 2023 at Eastwood Nursing Center.
Carole was born September 5, 1941 in Ishpeming to Arthur and Josephine (Prosen) Roberts, and graduated from Negaunee High School. She continued her education downstate, and earned her degree as a registered nurse. She specialized in psychiatric care and worked in several hospitals, retiring from Marquette General Hospital.
Carole was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and faithfully served Jehovah. She was a kind, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband, Denny, were an essential part in raising her grandsons, Al and Rusty. Carole’s greatest joy was sitting alongside her husband watching the Michigamme River flow and soaking in the sun.
Surviving are her daughter, Diana (Charlie) Niemi of Republic; her son, Brett (Velma) Hill of Green Bay; three grandchildren: Al (Erika), Rusty and Ethan; two great-grandchildren: Ariana and Tom; her sister, Nancy (Lani) Duquette of Negaunee; her special friend who she considered a daughter, Theresa (David) Danielson of Ishpeming and nephews: Mark Duquette and Lance Duquette along with his former wife, Tracy (Dave) Symons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Dennis Hill in 2021; her sister, JoAnne Roberts and her brother, Tom Roberts.
Honoring Carole’s wishes, no public services will be held.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the amazing staff at Eastwood, for their loving and compassionate care. They were truly a second family to her.
