Barbara L. Brisson

She was born August 15, 1952, in Gladstone, MI, a daughter of the late James and Theresa (Dupont) Culliton. She was a 1970 graduate of Marquette Senior High School and a lifelong area resident.

Barb went to work for Bell Telephone Company immediately following her graduation and was employed there for 24 years. She then went to work at the Ojibwa Casino in Harvey and worked as a cage manager there for years until her retirement.

She enjoyed knitting, canning, reading, gardening and playing on her iPad.

Barb is survived by her husband, William J. Brisson, Jr., whom she married at St. John’s Catholic Church on July 24, 1976; children, Heather Brisson of Marquette and Stephen Brisson of Maumee, OH; bonus daughter, Kawaunee (Anthony) Hofer of Bagley, MI; grandchildren, Morgan, Joseph, Nova, Hailey and Dianee and siblings, Linda Ellis of Negaunee and David (Kris) Culliton of Wichitaw, KS; sisters-in-law, Kathie (Ted) Thill of Marquette, Julie Brennan of Howard, WI, Jane Brisson of Au Train, MI, Pat (Jim) Landsparger of Broomfield, CO; also numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sandy and brother, James.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 1 pm at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Captain Matthew Darrow officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
